The Challenge

In 2018, high speed trading exchange IEX expanded their headquarters in New York, taking over 1 floor at 3 World Trade Center. To keep pace with competing financial institutions, IEX partnered with TPG Architecture design the space and the furniture to reflect the firm’s brand of modernity, techiness and youth. The challenge presented was to deliver a sleek and modern aesthetic despite the requirements of the technology teams within an ergonomic sit-to-stand environment, all within a limited budget and tight time frame.

The Innovant Solution

Sit to Stand NEO trading desks were proposed with tinted glass, next generation Ag monitor arms and sophisticated technology management features, delivering a sleek aesthetic in a tech heavy environment. The trading desks were arranged in a curved layout within the company’s command center to provide proper viewing lines to the display wall. Finishes were customized to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding environment, and the overall layout of the desk clusters created an airy, open feeling to the office.

The Result

After the vendor evaluation period, IEX and TPG agreed to work closely with Innovant based on the strength of the core NEO product line and Innovant’s ability to expand the design development process with our local design team. In the end, IEX was able to achieve their exact aesthetic and performance requirements within their set budget.
